It was red and white day at the RBC Canadian Open today, but the star of the show today was actually Martin Flores of the U.S.
Flores took the clubhouse lead at -12 after a pair of 66s as a soft Glen Abbey Golf Club continued to yield low scores.
Not far behind was the seemingly ageless Vijay Singh who continued his fine play and sits in a tie for fourth at -10 with six other golfers.
Canadians Graham DeLaet and Mackenzie Hughes are Canada’s hope as we head into the weekend as they were the only canucks to make the cut, both sit at -8, four shots behind the leader.
As the cut line rose to -4 through the day a host of Canadians were left a mere shot short, including Nick Taylor and David Hearn who both sat at -3 and will not play the weekend.
Dustin Johnson continued his strong play as he continues to pursue his first elusive RBC Canadian Open title. He finished his round in a tie for 14th at -8, but no doubt he had by far the largest galleries on the course.
And more from today’s round…
