I love fall golf. And here in Southern Ontario we are being graced with what is more than likely our final stretch of good golfing weather. Ten degrees and sunny in the middle of the day is ideal golfing conditions, especially if the wind is down like it was yesterday.
Not only was I fortunate enough to get in one last great day of golf, but I finally got to see the vaunted Tarandowah Golfers Club just outside of Avon, Ontario. I’d heard Robert Thompson raving about this track for years now so I knew I was overdue to join him for a round there and it did not disappoint. Great options off the tee hitting to well bunkered fairways and greens that were still running firm and fast, much faster than I’d anticipated for this late in the season. And as tough a closing stretch of holes 15 – 18 as you’ll likely to see. A great track, I’ll be back.
It was a great day for a final round, but I’m keeping my clubs in the trunk just in case.
