As Rob detailed in his post last week, Highlands Links is in as good a shape as its ever been. It still needs work in many areas (most notably 6), but the restoration spearheaded by Ian Andrew and executed by Highlands’ Graham Hudson and his team has made a huge improvement in the conditioning of this national gem. This having been my third visit, its the best shape I’ve seen it in.

Here’s the visual evidence:

We were also lucky enough to attend the ceremony to unveil the Stanley Thompson memorial while we were at Highlands Links. A life sized statue and memorial plaque commemorating Stanley Thompson as a person of historical significance was unveiled by Parks Canada and the Stanley Thompson Historical Society.
