Roy’s piece in today’s Globe “Fedex Cup Fails to deliver” is another good essay from Granny Stewart’s pride of Huntsville. However, Roy, I think it’s great TV and unless I’m wrong, I think I understand it!
Golf’s Playoffs (Fedex Cup) are finally in position to give the USPGA Tour the recognition they have been seeking. A great international field, all playing excellent golf. Most of the pros are playing for so many weeks in a row that their gurus will be replaced by the pros natural talent. Look at Sergio, going it alone with any caddie, no team, brilliant! More pros need to trust themselves and see how good they really are.
This great TV presented by FEDEX is hard to look away from. So what if Haas didn’t realize what he’d won last year, this is the NEW Fedex Cup and I care. I hope it’s over in time for the Ryder Cup. Roy is right that it’s a bit complicated, it’s like the overall NHL Champion gets to carry a one goal lead into the playoffs. However, it has brought two Canadians into the spotlight, Delaet and Hearn have done a superb job regardless of how they finish. Ames can represent Trinidad again, and Weir can mend his game, we have others carrying the flag. Roy, Golf is Great again (and so what if the Republicans are suing their system to decide the Fedex Cup).
