I was the lucky recipient of two second-place prizes at the Golf Journalists Association of Canada writing awards yesterday at Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club. I won the awards for a profile of Cabot Links designer Rod Whitman in the features category and second prize in the news category for a story on RBC’s push into golf sponsorship that appeared in Golf World.

I’ll post the entire list of winners later today.

The Dick Grimm Award — which honours journalists and those in the golf business — was given by Dick to Sandra Post, an 8-time winner on the LPGA Tour. Sandra was gracious and funny while accepting her award.
