*these are my favourites, I’ve played them all excepting Augusta National, which I walked for three days with Chuck Shields (Masters practice rounds). Alas, there are no Dick Wilson courses because the ones I used to love have all been “improved” beyond repair. I used to make a pilgrimage to Cog Hill in Chicago at least once a year, no longer recognize it. I recall years ago when Mark Evershed hit a superb wedge into the 10th,and it ran 30 feet past. “When Wilson built that green all the balls were balata”. My list, and I’ve hedged my bets by making the courses Tie for 1st, 6th, 11th, 16th and 21st. Like kissing your sister but conditions can change over night on most courses.
