Interesting news coming from the PGA Championship, where the talk is that Canadian Sean Foley might start working as Tiger Woods’ swing coach, a rumor first reported here a couple of months ago:
Tiger Woods confirmed the possibility that he could begin working with swing coach Sean Foley, although to hear the world No. 1 say it Tuesday afternoon following his practice round at Whistling Straits the two still seem to be in the interview phase of the relationship.
“(It’s) certainly a possibility, but there are a lot of other coaches out there as well that would be a possibility,” Woods said.
Similarly, when asked by the Associated Press whether he’s working with Woods Foley said, “I wouldn’t say that. But the possibility is there.” (source)
I talked to Foley about this at the Canadian Open, as well as several of his players — Sean O’Hair, Hunter Mahan and Stephen Ames. I’ll offer some of that interview tomorrow.
Nice work on potentially breaking a big story.
Interesting that the PR states that Foley is an Orlando-based coach. No mention about his Canuck status.
