Gone Golfing: G4G's Western Canada Tour

The 14th at Sagebrush: Is this the best modern course in Canada?

I’m leaving Ontario tomorrow morning for six days of golf, including several courses in SCOREGolf’s Top 100 that I haven’t yet seen. The trip starts in Kelowna, and once there I’m taking a drive to Sagebrush. I fell in love with the place the last time I was there and am always interested in seeing if courses hold up on a return visit. Then it is back to Kelowna to see Black Mountain, Tower Ranch and the Carrick Course at Predator Ridge. From there I head east, arriving in Invermere to play Radium Springs, Eagle Ranch and Greywolf. I then leave B.C. and drive to Banff to take in a round there (and hopefully find a place to stay as my accommodations are a bit up in the air) and finish at Priddis Greens in Calgary before flying home.

I’ll update the blog at each stop along the way, so stay tuned — lots of course reviews coming your way.

  • Rob,

After just getting back from my own BC trip, I can tell you that the only thing that will disappoint you about Sagebrush is the fact that you’re only spending one day there.

I’m also interested to hear your thoughts on the Ridge Course at Predator, another course we fit into our trip…

Enjoy – BC is a great destination and I can’t wait to get back next year.

  • I worked at Priddis back in high school, haven’t played it in 8-9 years now, not sure what the latest 9 is like.

It’s my favorite private course in Calgary (haven’t played Calgary G&C.C. yet), which probably isn’t saying much as the quality here isn’t very high compared to out east.

  • Hey Robert, love the blog. My friends and I are going out to kelowna in a month and are planning to play:
    predator ridge x2
    tower ranch
    the rise

we are scheduled to play black mountain but after the review are reconsidering. any suggestions of other gems we shouldn’t miss?

    thanks alot

  • Neil-Play Salmon Arm in, naturally, Salmon Arm, and Fairview Mountain in Oliver over Tower Ranch and The Rise.
