What started out as a day marred with heavy rain and a delayed start, turned into a hot and muggy day for the players – a day of lift, clean and place on St. George’s lush fairways.
Round 1 leader, unknown Brent Delahoussaye kept it together and shot a 1-under 69 to take the early clubhouse lead. Only to be overtaken in the afternoon by veterans Tim Clark and Dean Wilson, which should set up a wild weekend with a packed leaderboard.
Three Canadians made the cut. Young upstart Adam Hadwin, a relaxed Stephen Ames (who seemed to be loving St. George’s) and Brooklin, Ontario’s Jon Mills.
