I had a nice conversation with designer Rod Whitman before heading to see his Sagebrush design in BC this week. Whitman has been working in Nova Scotia on Cabot Links, a course that has been delayed but is going forward. Anyway, here’s a shot from this week of the roughed-in 11th hole, a par-3.

Thanks for the pic. I’m always searching for news on the course but never find anything. I recently saw some pics on GCA but they didn’t show much other than confirm that there was work in progress. This one looks to be one amazing hole with the ocean background. If you have any more then please share!
Wow. What a spectacular setting.
I can’t wait to see this course finished!
I too have been looking for news on the course and have found absolutely nothing. I am curious to know a little more about “going fwd” as this course has been delayed a long time. Their website has no progress photos. Is this the only hole which has any progress to it. Who is financially backing the course? Is the latest 2010 opening date still attainable – not sure how recent the picture is but if it is recent, it is getting a little late in the season to get a lot done out east….
I am sure Robert will be able to dig up a little more information for us:)

Colin, Greg and Shortgrass: That photo was taken last week by Ben Cowan-Dewar, one of the partners involved, and the founder of Cabot. The course is scheded to open in 2011 — and yes, that’s a delay, but good to see it going forward at all. Rod Whitman and Jeff Mingary have been rough shaping all summer and plan to have it complete next year or in early 2011.
Mike Keiser, the man behind Bandon Dunes, is still involved and visited the site last month.
I’ve been watching the progress over the summer .Last week-end there was a lot of activity. I didn’t take pics but will be there in a couple of weeks and will take a bunch and post them.
I’ve talked a couple of times to Rod Whitman and he says everything is on track for 2011.
The natural beauty of the area is both constant and ever changing. Check back in a couple of weeks for some spectacular pics.
