I can see the reality show now — how to break 50 on the PGA Tour. Iguess this is what taking your life seriously does to your golf game.
Anyway, for those not willing to divert their eyes, here’s John Daly’s scorecard from the two rounds at the Buick Open. And no, he didn’t make the cut.
Big John has got to be one of the most talented, if not the most talented golfer, in a very long time. Too bad for his fans that he has the work ethic of Homer Simpson.
RT:
I dont recall you championing Daly’s play at the Open?
time to get over your Daly grudge. Its become boring. You MUST be able to find something better to write about.
PLease! No more JD!
Okay. But this is the point — people were lauding John’s supposed great play. Except it was a mirage — it never existed. Now he’s taking exemptions from other players on the PGA Tour and not breaking 50. Come on…
Maybe I’ll just bore you all with course reviews this week — I’ve got a few of those ready to go.
No worries RT, you’re always boring. Stop attacking people and class up your column, you’re embarrassing yourself.
RT. Your point is well made about Big John. If he ever decides to get serious again, it would be great to see him challenge in a few tournaments. I thought his move to the European tour sounded like a smart move to get out of the spotlight a bit, but if his motive is to earn a few bucks instead of working hard to make it back, time will run out on him. I doubt many would question his talents, but age will start creeping in and any kind of a comeback gets tougher and tougher.
Wayne: I’ve been working hard to take the blog down market so I can attract more readers of your calibre!
Yep, you just keep re teeing every tee shot you hit, post your 120 then write a blog about who sucks at golf. Do you even keep score? Or is it too painful?
WayneGrow: This is kinda creepy — sorta like having my own stalker. I know you’re posting from the Clublink server (I’m guessing turf dept. — am I right?), and I know you took lesons from Sean Foley and I know you’ve posted comments on this site for several years. Does the company know what you are posting on their dime?
As for my game, that isn’t the point. It was fine today, and pretty good at Tarandowah. I assume you know that, since I’m sure you were lurking in the bushes at both places.
That said, I’m not taking up a spot on the PGA Tour — quite clearly as you point out — so my game is not relevant to the discussion at hand.
