5 Reasons to give thanks for economic meltdown

Richard Mandrell posted an interesting blog in Washing Times: his five reasons are:
1. A far overdue contraction of Golf Courses doesn’t Ontario need more?
2. A downsizing of Conditioning Is the Magna syndrome over?
3. Stategy, not aesthetics Does this mean the course should be better than the cart girl?
4. Allow golf to be the driving force in a golf course wither the clubhouse?
5. More affordability

Here in Scotland the pain from the economy has started, although many of the Troon type “improvements” don’t work here anyway. When our bag drop person greets people in the parking lot, they comment “too american, what’s next?” and when our beverage cart visits people more than once during the round they say “its an intrusion on their game”. Golf in Scotland has always been closer to the real gawf, let’s hope everyone survives.
