Our resort has just won the hotel of the year for 2008, awarded by Golf Tourism Scotland last Thursday evening. Great news, it shows our capital improvements were appreciated. I thought our Torrance Course should also have won The best course closed for the year but this category was not in the scheme. Our neighbour KINGSBARNS won Golf Course of the Year 2008, hopefully our new Torrance will be nominated in 2009. Construction is finished and the Torrance looks great – 63 new sod-walled bunkers have changed the course dramatically. Previously the course was very popular with the locals, they considered it “an American course” in Scotland, and loved it. Now it’s far more locally authentic, fast and firm, best greens in Scotland, bunkers to avoid on every hole, easy to walk in less than 4 hours, perfect! I expect it to open in July 2009, in fact our “grand opening” will be July 13th.
