Marketing 101 – Speeding up the slow play

For most of the Spring and summer I have started my weekend rounds before 7am but I have found the later the tee time the slower the round. Greens fees and pace of play are two of the most common complaints I hear from golfers (regardless of the course I’m playing).

Might I suggest dealing with both issues with one simple solution. The starter should havd everyone in the group a voucher that states the starting time of that group. The group then gets 4 1/2 hours (plus 15 minutes) to return to the Pro Shop after their round to recieve a coupon for $10 off a return round at the course.

I do know that there will still be slow groups out there but this method could help players encourage one another to speed up a little and have the Marshals actually do their jobs.
