Christmas arrived on December 24 this year with a delivery from Callaway. It seems like their elves have been working overtime to develop a new four piece tour ball to be launched this coming Spring and two sleeves of the brand new Tour i and Tour ix have arrived for testing.
The note that Callaway sent with the balls says:
“The new Tour i and Tour ix golf balls are the most technologically advanced and longest tour balls you’ll ever play. A truly revolutionary ball, its breakthrough in distance and feel comes from its innovative 4-piece inertia technology. A proprietary high-density polyutadyne-infused outer core shifts weight away from the centre of the ball, reducing driver spin for maximum distance and straighter shots. The soft core formulation provides tour-level feel and the urethane cover generates excellent short-game spin. The refined HEX Aerodynamic pattern further increases distance through reduced drag and better stability.”
We’re going to try and take these puppies out for a test drive in the next couple of weeks. Come on back for our preliminary report.
