Mike Weir's New Deal

IMG sports, Mike Weir’s agency of record, has called a press conference for tomorrow to announce a new initiative. I’m hearing the announcement will center around Weir’s primary sponsor, Bell Canada, who has had a prominent place on Weir’s cap for some time. The deal was renewed in 2003 following his win at the Masters, bringing it to nearly $1 million per year. Word has it that Bell will be moving down to Weir’s sleeve, and a new sponsor — a prominent media company is taking over as his main sponsor.

The deal will be announced tomorrow, though it will be interesting to see if Weir gets into Canada given the weather in Ontario.
