Well, I’m not suggesting the PGA Tour is on drugs, but the organization came out with its policy on the issue yesterday, though admittedly they are still a ways from putting it to work. Who said pro golf moved quickly?

Golf has always prided itself on being a sport that requires little policing. Rules officials lurk at professional and amateur tournaments, but more often than not they are found sitting in a cart under some shady tree until called upon to clarify some minutia within the game’s code.
When it comes to performance-enhancing drugs in sports, even the most civilized of sports feel prompted to act.
And when it comes to the PGA Tour, commissioner Tim Finchem has kept his head in the sand as long as he could.
