Tiger to Skip First FedEx Round?

Interesting to note, given my column in today’s Post, that Tiger Woods is apparently planning on skipping the first round of the FedEx Cup. Can you say ‘nail in the coffin?’

Tiger Woods initial embrace of the PGA Tours new playoff system may end up being more of a slap in the face.

Based on a series of conversations today, the Barclays executive director Peter Mele said that he was not optimistic that Woods would be playing next week at Westchester Country Club, in the first of four FedEx Cup playoff events. Woods has won back-to-back tournaments, including the PGA, and recently backed off his stated intention to play all four playoff events.
