MARKHAM – Though he may only be 35, Mike Weir is the senior man in Canadian golf.

That was evident yesterday as the left-hander finished his mentoring session — otherwise known as a nine-hole practice round on Angus Glen’s North Course — with new pro Andrew Parr and the star of last year’s Canadian Open, amateur Victor Ciesielski. And tagging along was Derek Gillespie, Canada’s last next big thing, who is in the midst of a career renaissance at the age of 29.
