RCGA Holding CN Conference Call: "Sponsorship"

The Royal Canadian Golf Association is holding a conference call in an hour to announce something involving CN and “sponsorship.” I’d be very surprised if this had anything to do with the Canadian Open — more likely it involves an extension of the women’s sponsorship.

Will update as news becomes available.

Update: Contrary to what one apparently in-the-know commentator had to say in regards to this news, CN did in fact announce it was picking up the two year option on its sponsorship of the Canadian Women’s Open, extending its relationship with the tournament until 2010. No financial details were disclosed.

So there.

    Duhhhh

Don’t you think that if this announcement was an extention of CN’s sponsorship that the announcement would be made during the week of the Women’s event? Wouldn’t that make sense, instead of making that announcement before the Canadian Open?

  • Dear Duhhh.

    I was right.

    You were wrong.

That said, I don’t understand the nature of the timing of the announcement, but I frankly don’t think it matters much.
