Despite rumors that Mystic Golf Club near Copetown, Ont. has been sold, the club remains in the hands of the receiver. Sean Casey, the receiver in the case, said yesterday that he’s had several all cash offers for the club. He’s awaiting an appraisal from a golf course appraiser, and once that is in hand, he’ll make a recommendation to the court on May 16 as to which offer should be accepted. He wouldn’t comment on the valuation of the club, or what bidders had offered.
Interestingly, the club is planning on opening next Friday, at a price of $65 plus cart fees. Casey said the superintendent has been working dilligently at fixing many of the conditioning problems that had been plaguing Mystic. He said the warm weather has really helped improve the course’s conditions.
