Interesting that while I was in Pinehurst, ClubLink replaced CEO Bob Poile with chairman and real estate mogul, Rai Sahi. What does this mean for the organization? I have no idea, actually. Word had been that the plan was to take it private. Poile was a significant shareholder, so maybe he’s selling out and walking away. There has been significant talk that Sahi was interested in developing the land where Glen Abbey sits, but could not get the proper zoning approval to do so.
Here’s the vaguely worded release:
KING CITY, ONTARIO–(CCNMatthews – April 2, 2007) – ClubLink Corporation (“ClubLink”) (TSX:LNK – News) announced today that Rai Sahi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ClubLink, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Sahi replaces outgoing Chief Executive Officer Robert Poile. Jack Winberg, a member of the ClubLink Board of Directors since 1993, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Winberg said “The Board is pleased to give Mr. Sahi, who has a long history of creating shareholder value in real estate and leisure companies, the opportunity to further enhance shareholder value at ClubLink in the capacity as Chief Executive Officer.”
