Is the PGA TOUR the most profitable non-profit company?

“the 5th piece of the PGA TOUR’s Tournament Player’s Club network will be removed next month when the city of Virginia Beach, Va., assumes control of TPC Virginia Beach.”

“The removal of the Pete Dye-Curtis Strange-designed Virginia Beach course from the TPC network comes less than a year after the TOUR decided to cancel the Nationwide Tour’s Virginia Beach Open after seven years.”

both quotes are from Golfweek March 23, 2007

The city of Virginia Beach did not disclose how much they paid to buy their own course from the PGA TOUR.

Will the PGA TOUR and the FEDEX CUP do the same to other Professional Tours (like Europe) what WALMART does for small towns?
