CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 17, 2006) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company (TMaG) has announced that PGA Tour professional Mike Weir, a member of the TaylorMade Tour Staff since 2001, has extended his partnership with TaylorMade through 2008 and made the switch to adidas Golf footwear.”I’ve had great success using TaylorMade metalwoods and irons for the past five years and I’m looking forward to continuing my relationship with what I consider a terrific organization,” said the 2003 Masters Champion. “I’m also happy to be making the move to adidas Golf footwear. Like clubs, shoes are a vital part of a golfer’s equipment, and that’s the reason I made the change.”

Weir, a seven-time PGA tour winner and three-time President’s Cup participant, will be an integral part of adidas Golf’s promotional campaigns during 2006, and his image will appear on adidas Golf point-of-purchase displays. Weir will wear adidas Golf footwear for the first time on the PGA Tour at the 2006 Sony Open, scheduled to begin on January 12.

“Mike is exactly the kind of golfer we want on the TaylorMade-adidas Tour Staff – a great player and a great person,” said Chuck Presto, Vice President of Global Sports Marketing for TMaG. “We’re extremely pleased not only that our partnership with Mike will continue, but also that it includes a new dimension, that being his new role as spokesman for adidas Golf footwear.”
