Season end reviews and round up

As several of Ontario’s golf magazines come out with the year-end editions (OG, Score, Fairways), I’m going to spend some time in the coming week looking back at the best courses I encountered — the great ones, as well as those that didn’t quite deliver the goods and those that could have been a touch better.

I’ve also got quite a backlog of courses to post photos of and review, including an update of the ultra-private Oviinbyrd in Muskoka, Windsor’s delightful, but slightly repetitive Ambassador Golf Club, the terrific new Cobble Beach Golf Links in Owen Sound, as well as taking a closer look at a couple of old faves, including Copper Creek, Whirlpool and Heron Point.

Until I get time to finish these up, enjoy a shot of the first par five at the terrific new Cobble Beach Golf Links which will open its fairways next year.
