RCGA press conference, off to Highlands Links

I’m off for a couple of days to head out to Highlands Links, tour the site of Cabot Links in Inverness, NS, and end at Fox Harb’r, Ron Joyce’s private playground near Tatamagouche, to finish our book on Ron’s life and the creation and expansion of Tim Hortons. Not sure if I’ll be able to blog, but I’ll update the site if I have access.

In the meantime, it is worth paying attention to the RCGA’s press conference announcing some players for the CanOpen in September. It appears aging stars Vijay Singh and Mark O’Meara will be there as they are part of the press conference, as will Mike Weir (obviously). Also along will be rising star Camilo Villegas. Oh, and Pengrowth will be announced as a presenting sponsor, though only partially filling the void left by the departure of Bell Canada.

Hopefully some other names will be announced. Since Hamilton G&CC is expected to be a big draw, it would be disappointing if the field is as weak as in past years.
