An exciting weekend is upcoming at Congressional GCC as Rory McIlroy enters the weekend with a 6 stroke lead at the U.S. Open.
McIlroy set a number of U.S. Open records with his first two rounds – including hitting 13 under par – a score that had never been achieved at any previous open. Ever.
Can McIlroy continue his dominance over the field and raise the U.S. Open trophy on Father’s Day Sunday. Can he erase the memories of his back 9 collapse at the Masters? We’ll watch with interest.
Also of note, Canadians Wes Heffernan and Adam Hadwin both made the cut on the number to play the weekend. As of time of writing – both golfers sit at +6 (+2 for the day) late in their third rounds, 17 shots off McIlroy’s heady pace. But both golfers should be on pace for nice pay days.
