Earlier this year I reported on the “restoration” that Martin Hawtree was undertaking at Toronto Golf Club. It had been billed as a restoration by a prominent member at Toronto who was involved in the project, as well as by construction company TDI and by Hawtree himself on his website. The problem is when you ... read more »

On the same day the Golf Journalists Association of Canada voted Matt Hill in as the top Canadian male amateur, the RCGA named Nick Taylor as the country’s top college male player. So who is right?
I’d say the RCGA got this one correct. Anyway, here’s the details:
For the second year in a row, Nick Taylor ... read more »

Graham Delaet has one-and-a-half rounds left at PGA Tour Qualifying School, but given his T2 position heading into the home stretch, he looks set to earn his card. First it was Kevin Thistle leaving for Coppinwood. Then it was former Bond Head top dog Nigel Hollidge joining. Then #2 JC Cunningham departed. Lots of change over a couple of months at the normally very stable Angus Glen GC. Then today the latest casualty was Dennis Firth, who was with the course for more ... read more »

That seems to be the question some are asking. Yesterday, while reading Geoff Shackelford’s site, the question was raised about whether Shackelford should be writing about the topic. I was asked the same question about my initial post regarding Woods’ accident. Reader “Albert” wrote:
Is it really necessary to point us to some unsubstantiated story on ... read more »
