    Here is a poem from a Mike Weir Fan – meant to be supportive and fun, in hopes of Weir regaining his steps:

    AN ODE TO MICHAEL WEIR

    (Sing to the melody of “Oh My Darling Clementine”)

    1. Once you were a super golfer,

    In the world a number four;

    Even won a Master’s trophy

    And Canadians wanted more;

    2. We admit you made us happy,

    When you won a few times more;

    You became our golfing hero,

    Recognized from shore to shore.

    Chorus:

    Our darling, our darling, our darling, Michael Weir,

    You seem baffled and bewildered,

    Is this the end of your career?.

    3, You changed equipment, took some lessons,

    From your pros and golfing peers,

    Bur your efforts were not successful

    And your game seemed out of gear;

    4 There are pundits and proclamations,

    That you’re not what you thought you were,

    That you’re just a “one-book” author

    And your end is very near.

    Chorus (as above)

    5. You’re a nice guy and we love you,

    And we hope you persevere,

    To prove you’re not a “one-book” author,

    But the champ we hold so dear.

    Chorus

    Our darling, our darling, our darling, Michael Weir

    We believe you have the magic,

    To become what you once were.
