Good review, Rob. Lookout is an absolute gem. Good call re: #3…probably my favourite short par 5 in Canada, at least.

Still pales in comparison to St. Catharines though, right Rob? ;)

All kidding aside, Lookout is a tremendous golf course and easily the best Niagara has to offer.

I too love Lookout. In fact I moved to the area because of the golf course. Like you pointed out, the final 4 holes are short by modern standards but by no means are they easy. The 18th is easily the longest, toughest 318 yd Par 4 I’ve ever played. With the wind and elevation change, it can play more like a 400 yd hole.
Quick note Rob, you’ve got a photo of the 15th hole labelled as the 14th.

Nice review. I’m totally in love with the place, but try to limit my visits to once per year. If/when I become a member, you’ll have to drag my body away from that course. You honestly have to think about every shot around there. I’ve yet to play another course like it.

The other cool thing is that it works so well for golfers of all ages, provided the older ones take carts (the walk is a bit harsh). The old gaffers can hit it dead straight 150 yards and still keep up, while the young guns are pounding the ball into all kinds of tricky spots. Everything gets evened out on and around those greens.

    One correction:

12 is a par 5. The photo labelled as #12 is actually the 13th.

Nice review. One of my favourite courses. This course requires you to think all of the time, particularly where the clubhouse is as everything breaks away from the clubhouse.

One of the diificult short holes is #10. With a shallow green that falls off sharply front and back and is sloped back to front. Get above the hole here and it becomes a difficult two putt.
