Don’t know how long ago it was that they switched 9′s, but I always preferred the original sequence.

Played both properties for the first time this May. Thought that the Paintbrush was an outstanding golf course. It will stand out for a long time as the most memorable and enjoyable golf course that I have played even though the fescue beat me up on a few holes.

Although the Pulpit is a great course, I didn’t find it much better than other courses in that caliber. A couple of nice holes (#10 my favorite) and great conditioning but to be honest I wasn’t overwhelmed. Maybe I was expecting more. I wasn’t blown away by the first hole (I’ve heard it cost a small fortune). Still overall a pretty nice place.

2 great courses. I would pick the Paintbrush over the Pulpit any day.

I am surprised you did not mention the outstanding par 3 13th hole…I think one of the best par 3s in the country. The other nice aspect to the Paintbrush is it is “built for speed” as Ben Kern used to say. An easy and quick walkable course.
