Reports today that the Tom Fazio-designed Terrebonne course near Montreal is on hold and the RCGA will have to find another location for the Canadian Open that was rumored to be heading there in 2009.
G4G sources have told me the issue is a business split between Angus Glen owner Gordon Stollery and his partner in the venture, Michael Columbos. This means the Fazio course will be on hold for the next while as this gets sorted out — and it means the RCGA will have to find another location for the Open that year. The chances are that it will end up at Hamilton, a good sign for the Canadian Open, which will have had to endure back-to-back years at Angus Glen North and Glen Abbey at that point.
Anyway, here’s what Columbos had to say in happier times:

A complete embrassment to the Canadian Golf Association, and if they want to keep their credibility they must cancel this pittyful project. I have viewed the site and its toast…. there has got to be clueless mutts involved in the development of this project…
