According to news reports, golf legend Byron Nelson died today at [photopress:byronnelson2.jpg,full,alignright]noon at the age of 94. An account of his career can be found here. Needless to say, there’s a great Canadian connection to Nelson, as he won 11th straight tournament at Thornhill Country Club north of Toronto in 1945.
Nelson was a classy man and a legend. He was the last living of the three greats who hit the opening drive at the Masters.
