Yesterday, the Royal Canadian Golf Association finished its seminar series on dead Canadians who influenced the game by presenting a talk on Stanley Thompson — the man who has likely had the greatest influence on the game in this country. It was announced recently that the Wild Wing Planation, a golf resort in Myrtle Beach, would be developing condos on several of its courses. Only one course will remain when all is said and done. People always seem to be split when it comes to discussions of Seguin Valley Golf Club, a course near Parry Sound, Ontario. I think the verdict is much clearer than some are letting on. Going for the Green’s new website

Rubenstein on Ian Andrew Golf Design

Lorne Rubenstein writes today on Ian Andrew and his new golf design firm. To be open, Ian and I are good friends and speak regularly. But I’m glad to see him get the nod from Lorne, whose power in the Canadian golf industry can not be disputed. Maybe the article helps gain some attention for ... read more »

Jack and Arnie on Augusta; Geoff Cornish speaks

According to a story on the Golf Channel last night, both Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus are critical of the changes to Augusta National that have been instituted in the past year. Both said the alterations have dramatically changed the golf course. The remarks are interesting because they seem to run contrary to the Augusta ... read more »
