ScoreGolf Top Public Courses Show

Osprey Valley - site of this week's ScoreGolf top public course program.

Last week I joined ScoreGolf managing editor Jason Logan to tape the magazine’s television special highlighting the best public golf courses in Canada. We filmed the segment at Osprey Valley, the great facility north of Toronto, and discussed the best public courses across the country, usually by region.

Anyway, the program airs this Saturday:

What are the top public golf courses in Canada? Whether you’re out east in Newfoundland, out west in B.C., or somewhere in between, SCOREGolf has scoured the nation to come up with a ranking of the best in each province. A panel of more than 100 golf course aficionados have played and rated public tracks across Canada, and their findings will be unveiled in a TV special on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 12-1 p.m. ET on TSN. The one-hour show will explore the top-ranked courses in each province, and also features Canadian professionals including Stephen Ames and Chris Baryla weighing in on their favourite courses. There are three other chances to catch SCOREGolf TV’s one-hour Top Canadian Public Courses special: Aug. 9, 7-8 p.m. (TSN2) and Aug. 10, 3-4 p.m. (TSN2) and 4-5 p.m. (TSN), all times Eastern. Later this month Canada’s Public Course Ranking will hit magazine newsstands across the country for a more in-depth look at each course.

  • So, uh, the results?
Some of us don’t have the luxury of leisurely sitting in front of the TV for an hour.
And don’t tell me to buy the magazine….it’s become a sad little rag.

  • Rob: It is called a PVR — an invention you should investigate since it will allow you to just watch the bits I’m on.

Oh, and the “sad little rag,” isn’t expensive. Pull out your wallet and buy it. I’ve got a good story in it that is surely worth the $5. You might have to forgo a Starbucks run, but it’ll more than make up for it.

  • Every two years Ontario Golf publishes our list of the best golf courses in the province. We put together a panel of very experienced golfers including RT to determine the very best.
This year we have added an end user voting option.
Anyone can vote for thier favourite courses at http://bit.ly/qrBVXl and we’ll email the results to everyone who votes and even put the Top 100 feature online later this year at http://www.golfontario.ca.
Course rankings are a lot of fun. Everyone has an opinion so these are always our most talked about features.

  • Robert,
Am I the only one who feels taboo is the biggest ripoff in ontario golf? I dont know if its even top 20 in the province, what about eagle creek or the marshes in Ottawa?
