DeLaet posts a Top-3 finish at Houston

Saskatchewan's Graham DeLaet

Weyburn Saskatchewan’s Graham DeLaet continued his strong rookie season on the PGA Tour with a tie for 3rd place finish at the Shell Houston Open.

DeLaet was in the hunt all day but was never able to reel in eventual champion Anthony Kim, who won the title in a playoff over Vaughn Taylor. His day included an impressive birdie on 17, and a lovely putt to save par from the fringe on 18. DeLaet only made one bogey in his last 54 holes. Impressive.

The $333k payday will go a long way in helping DeLaet retain his PGA Tour card this year, as it puts him at #58 on the money list.

Check out additional coverage of DeLaet at Robert Thompson’s blog (inc. a comment from Richard Zokol) and the Regina Leader-Post.

  • Anyone know why Graham DeLaet is not entered in this week’s Quail Hollow event when he is totally eligible ??
