Golf designer Ian Andrew has provided an update — and a photo — of a potential Weir Golf Design project in Canada. Weir visited the site last week when in Canada to accept his Order of Canada. The location of the site wasn’t disclosed. Here’s what Andrew had to say on Weir Golf Design blog:

Yesterday, Mike and I spent the entire day looking at an existing golf course. The club has invited us to look at completely redesigning the golf course. We walked all the holes and made changes where necessary and used the existing corridors where appropriate. Once we settled on the routing, we concentrated on the details of the design.

We walked through each and every hole discussing the potential design ideas that would work best for each hole. There was a tremendous back and forth where we shared all the possibilities we could think of till we found the answer we both liked the most. What was great was we both made suggestions, listened, and had fun.

I was very impressed with Mikes knowledge of golf design. There is no question in my mind that hes ready to be a designer and will have a big impact on what the players will see and enjoy.
